is_remote | boolean | Optional | Whether the person works remotely rather than from a company work location. When true, omit location_id and provide country_code plus state_code when applicable. Defaults to false. |
location_id | string | Optional | Rippling work-location ID for the office or site where the person will work. Obtain it from GET /work-locations/. Required when is_remote is false; omit when is_remote is true. |
state_code | string | Optional | State, province, or region code for a remote work location, such as CA for California. Supply it when the selected country requires a regional location; omit it for an office-based hire whose work-location record already identifies the region. |
