Use Clerk credentials to make authenticated API calls through Alter Vault without exposing your API keys in code.

Step 1: Get Your Credentials

Log in to the Clerk Dashboard

Log in to the Clerk Dashboard at dashboard.clerk.com.

Select your application

Select your application.

Go to Configure → API Keys

Go to Configure → API Keys.

Copy the Secret Key

Copy the Secret Key (starts with sk_live_ or sk_test_).
Never share your credentials publicly. Store them securely and only enter them in the Alter Vault Developer Portal.

Step 2: Add to Alter Vault

Open the Developer Portal

Go to portal.alterauth.com and navigate to your app.

Add Clerk

Go to Managed Secrets > Add Provider > Clerk.

Enter your credentials

Paste your Secret Key into the credential field.

Save

Click Save. You’ll receive a grant_id to use with the SDK.
